Oliver Stone – 1999

Oliver Stone is at the top of his game with this sports-based drama which features a fantastic cast  – Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, Jamie Foxx, James Woods, LL Cool, Matthew Modine, Aaron Eckhart and the mighty Charlton Heston. 

Any Given Sunday is edited to within an inch of its life and it can be hard to understand at times, but it has a strong story and great performances. Stone is being quite playful with this one, but you can also see the ripples as he stirs the pot. Great.
