Nicolas Cage Is TIGER KING’S Joe Exotic

The mighty Nicolas Cage has scored the role he was potentially born to play. Cage will play Joe Schreibvogel, a.k.a Joe Exotic, the subject of Netflix’s Tiger King in a a new eight-part series for Imagine Television.

Based on Leif Reigstad’s article Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild, which appeared in Texas Monthly, the show will focus on Exotic as he attempts to keep his zoo and his sanity. 

This is Cage’s first ever television role and he has the right amount of quirky ticks and canned insanity in his toolbox to play Exotic. Tiger King has been a smash for Netflix during COVID-19 lockdown and a whole host of people are scrambling to bring the unbelievable true-life tale to the screen. I’m hoping this one makes it to the screen.
