Leigh Whannell To Direct Ryan Gosling In THE WOLFMAN

After scoring a critical and commercial hit with The Invisible Man, Leigh Whannell has now been tapped by Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions to direct the reboot of the 1941 horror classic The Wolfman, which is set to star Ryan Gosling.

Whannell will write the treatment for the film, with Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo penning the script. It is believed that the film will have the same tone as the Jake Gyllenhaal thriller Nightcrawler – but with added hair.

Whannell is a good fit for The Wolfman and it would seem like he’s potentially going to be the unofficial overseer of the new interpretation of Universal’s Classic Monsters.
