Jon Hamm In MILLION DOLLAR ARM – Where Was Movies In Focus?

I don’t know where I’ve been on this one. The trailer for Million Dollar Arm starring Jon Hamm has been doing the rounds for a bit, but I just caught it. It looks good. Very good.

Here’s the IMDB synopsis:

“A sports agent stages an unconventional recruitment strategy to get talented Asian cricket players to play Major League Baseball.”

It’s the typical Disney feel-good sports comedy/drama that usually makes serious dough stateside but barely anything elsewhere on the globe (see The Rookie for a prime example). However, Hamm is great in Mad Men, he’s a charismatic actor who should have the opportunity to break-out on the big screen the way George Clooney did fifteen or so years ago.

Million Dollar Arm is now on the Movies In Focus to-watch list for 2014 – it opens in the US in May.
