2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes was excellent – a franchise reboot that scored on a commercial and creative level. I didn’t like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, feeling that it tried too hard to be weighty and epic. I’m sceptical of War of the Planet of the Apes – but having caught this new trailer I suspect it might have achieved what Dawn failed to do.
I’m impressed by the visuals contained in this trailer – and I hope the movie manages to rise up to what is being marketed. It gets extra points for having Woody Harrelson, a man who adds 25% extra enjoyment to everything he is in!
