Check Out Director Jimmy Dean’s Vampire Short V

Vampire films have been around for decades and nearly every angle has been explored in an attempt to breathe new life into the undead horror sub-genre. However, director Jimmy Dean has managed to craft a fresh take in his short film, V.

The 10 minute drama sees Synnøve Karlsen play a teenager, isolated from her friends and getting over a failed relationship. She also happens to be a vampire.

Director Dean and writer/producer Ellie Gocher deliver a film which uses well-known genre tropes, but the piece works exceptionally well as drama about teenage life. The award-winning short features an impressive performance from Synnøve Karlsen and credit must also go to director of photography Anna MacDonald, production designer Greg Bradlaugh, editor Peter Schmid and composer Terence Dunn.
