We’ve already had the trailer for Nicolas Cage’s new sci-fi samurai western, Prisoners of The Ghostland – and now comes a great looking poster for the film which hits arrives in US and UK cinemas, on Demand and Digital on 17 September 2021.
This artwork is a thing of beauty – and it’s one of the finest film posters that I’ve seen in a long, long time.
Prisoners of The Ghostland looks like another gonzo action role for Cage, who has been on something of a comeback over the last few years (Mandy, Color Out Of Space). Cage himself is quoted on the poster saying that the Sion Sono directed film is ‘the wildest movie I’ve ever made’.
That’s pretty much allow need to know!
In the treacherous frontier city of Samurai Town, a ruthless bank robber (Cage) is sprungfrom jail by wealthy warlord The Governor (Bill Moseley), whose adopted granddaughter Bernice (Sofia Boutella) has gone missing. The Governor offers the prisoner his freedom in exchange for retrieving the runaway. Strapped into a leather suit that will self-destruct within five days, the bandit sets off on a journey to find the young woman— and his own path to redemption.
