Worth A Watch: Mark Pellington’s ARLINGTON ROAD Starring Jeff Bridges & Tim Robbins
Mark Pellington’s Arlington Road was a solid hit when it was released back in the summer of 1999. It grossed $24.7 million at the US box office and $41 million globally.
Pellington’s film is a 70′s style paranoia thriller clearly modelled on the work of the great Alan Pakula (Klute, The Parallax View and All the President’s Men).
Jeff Bridges stars as a college professor who suspects his friendly neighbour, Tim Robbins, might be a terrorist. Arlington Road was a chilling and prophetic vision of post-9/11 paranoia. It’s highly recommended viewing – give it a watch.
