What A Kroc! Michael Keaton To Star In McDonald’s Movie THE FOUNDER

Film Michael Keaton

The Michael Keaton news just keeps coming and coming. The Oscar and Bafta nominated Birdman star is in negotiations to join The Founder, John Lee Hancock’s film about the building of the McDonalds Empire.

According to THR:

‘Written by Robert Siegel (Big Fan), The Founder is a drama that tells the true story of how Ray Kroc, a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers’ speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He manoeuvred himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire.’

Keaton will play Kroc in the film, which is being produced by FilmNation and The Combine ( run by Jeremy Renner and Don Handfield). Hancock’s film is being likened to The Social Network and There Will Be Blood (an interesting combination).

Michael Keaton has just wrapped the drama Spotlight and he’s in the frame to star in King Kong spin-off Kong: Skull Island.

That’s a comeback!
