Trailer: We’ve Waited Almost 20 Years…And Now We Finally Get DEEP BLUE SEA 2

Nobody has an appreciation of Renny Harlin’s Deep Blue Sea quite like Movies In Focus. The 1999 shark attack actioner is a stone cold cult classic/ guilty pleasure. I’ve watched it more times that I would like to admit and therefore I’m a little excited by the prospect of a sequel – even if it does look like a quasi-remake (minus Thomas Jane, Samuel L. Jackson and LL Cool J.).

This is a straight-to-video release, a shame considering the original’s solid $73 million US/$163 million global gross, but hey, I’ll give it a whirl in the old blu-ray player.

The synopsis:

In Deep Blue Sea 2, shark conservationist Dr. Misty Calhoun (Danielle Savre) is invited to consult on a new, top secret project run by pharmaceutical billionaire Carl Durant (Michael Beach). When science meddles with the time-tested process of nature and nurture, the outcome can be deadly.
