Trailer: It Ain’t No Powell and Pressburger But BLACK NARCISSUS Doesn’t Look Bad
Movies In Focus has to admit that the new adaptation of Rumer Godden’s Black Narcissus looks good. It’s obviously taking a lot of visual cues from Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger’s classic 1947 film, but can’t blame the makers as Jack Cardiff’s Academy Award winning cinematography from that film is stunning.
Here’s the full trailer for the three-part limited series adaptation of Black Narcissus starring Gemma Arterton, Alessandro Nivola, Aisling Franciosi, Jim Broadbent, Rosie Cavaliero, Gina McKee and the late Diana Rigg. The plot follows nuns struggling to establish a convent in the Himalayas.
It will hit FX on 23 November before streaming on FX on Hulu on 24 November 2020.
