Movies In Focus caught Devereux Milburn’s Honeydew at FrightFest 2020. It’s a brilliantly creepy horror which in Sawyer Spielberg and Malin Barr play young couple who encounter car trouble in the countryside. Things turn bad.
In my review, I said ‘the film’s tension is taught and tense and it grips its viewer and drags them into is own special brand of drug-induced weirdness. It’s a slow burning, but captivating piece of horror cinema which is highly effective in its own hallucinogenic way.’
Honeydew opens in US cinemas on 12 March 2021 before it arrives On Demand and Digital 13 April 2021.
Honeydew tells the story of a young couple (played by Spielberg and Barr) who are forced to seek shelter in the home of an aging farmer (Kingsley) and her peculiar son, when they suddenly begin having strange cravings and hallucinations taking them down a rabbit hole of the bizarre.
