Trailer and Poster: Sci-Fi Thriller ARCHIVE Starring Theo James, Stacy Martin, Rhona Mitra & Toby Jones

Writer-director Gavin Rothery’s Archive looks like an interesting science fiction film, with a strong premise and a good cast (Theo James, Stacy Martin, Rhona Mitra and Toby Jones). The visuals are giving me hints of Alex Garland’s Ex Machina, Steven Spielberg‘s A.I. Artificial Intelligence and Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. That’s very good company for this modest budgeted thriller to be in. 

Rothery’s film appears to place most of its emphasis on the concept and execution rather than action  – and that’s something that I very happy with. 

Archive will be available on Virtual Cinema Screenings, On Demand and Digital by Vertical Entertainment on 10 July.

 

The synopsis:

 

2038: George Almore is working on a true human-equivalent AI. His latest prototype is almost ready. This sensitive phase is also the riskiest. Especially as he has a goal that must be hidden at all costs: being reunited with his dead wife.
