The trio play con artists, trying to score cash through ‘grifting’ in LA. It’s cool and calculating – and well worth seeking out.
Released in 1990, the screenplay was written by hard-boiled novelist Donald E. Westlake – the man behind the Parker novels. The Grifters, produced by Martin Scorsese had a pretty successful awards run when it was released back in 1990. It grossed $13.4 million at the US box office.
