Pierce Brosnan In EUROVISION
I had no interest in the upcoming Will Ferrell/Rachel McAdams Netflix comedy Eurovision. None at all. In fact, I don’t think I knew it existed. However, it’s now on my ‘must-see’ list because of its recent cast signing: Pierce Brosnan.
The longline sounds like a typical over-coming the odds comedy tale:
When aspiring musicians Lars (Ferrell) and Sigrit (McAdams) are given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent their country at the world’s biggest song competition, they finally have a chance to prove that any dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for.
But Brosnan will star as ”Erick Erickssong, Lars’ father and the most handsome man in Iceland”. He doesn’t really need to act, does he? Maybe an accent.
Brosnan is a great comic actor and as long as his role here is sizeable, it has my attention. I’ve been a fan going way back to Remington Steele and he has the comedic timing to match a comedian like Ferrell.
He should sing too. And I’m not joking. His version of SOS in Mamma Mia is brilliant. I bought the soundtrack for it.
