Notebook Reviews: THE OMEN

Richard Donner – 1976

4 out of 5 stars

The Omen is a first rate horror from the great Richard Donner – which once again shows that he’s a director at ease in every genre.

Great acting from Gregory Peck and Lee Remick and a fantastic score from Jerry Goldsmith make this compelling viewing. The Omen reeks of atmosphere and the cinematography from Gilbert Taylor is excellent.

The Omen can proudly stand beside The Exorcist as one of the great horror movies and its fingerprints can be found on everything from Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s religious actioner, End Of Days
