Notebook Reviews: FROM DUSK TILL DAWN
Robert Rodriguez – 1996
From Dusk Till Dawn is a witty, gory and morally ambiguous horror-thriller. It’s great fun. There’s a chance that the whole thing wouldn’t work if it wasn’t anchored by George Clooney, who brings a touch of humanity to the whole thing. We’ll never know though.
Robert Rodriguez‘s film (from a script from co-star Quentin Tarantino) has flashes of inspiration and the film has a tone similar to Joel Schumacher’s The Lost Boys. There’s a nice siege section towards the end that works well. All-in-all, From Dusk Till Dawn is great fun.
