Renny Harlin – 1990

Action maestro Renny Harlin delivers a brilliant follow-up to John McTiernan’s 1988 masterpiece. This 1990 release has first-rate action set pieces – which help make it a genre stand-out.

Bruce Willis is once again on fine form as John McClane and the supporting cast also help make this something special. If the first Die Hard was in the mould of The Towering Inferno, then his sequel riffs on Airport. 

Die Hard 2 might lack the claustrophobic atmosphere of its predecessor, but this sequel is almost as good as the original. Worth watching. Yippee Ki Yay!
