Notebook Reviews: CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON
Ang Lee – 2000
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a highly watchable, yet very flawed martial-arts epic from And Lee. The cast is good – Chow Yun-Fat and Michelle Yeoh are on fine form and the action sequences are pretty spectacular, but the plot of this fantasy film is somewhat lacking, But the action’s thing thing and that’s what you’re there for.
The ending is a little anti-climatic, but Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a visually impressive piece of cinema, which is well worth watching.
