MAYHEM FILM FESTIVAL Announces Its First Three Titles
The Mayhem Film Festival is gearing-up for its 13th year (unlucky for some, very lucky for others) and it has announced the first three films which will be screening at the event. As per usual for Mayhem, the titles are an eclectic mix for the festival, which will run from 12- 15th October at Nottingham’s Broadway Cinema.
Benjamin Barfoot’s Double Date will open the festival (along with a cast and crew Q&A) and the famed Friday the 13th Part III: 3D will handily be screening on Friday 13th October. Australian mockumentary, Top Knot Detective will also screen at the event – and more titles will released as the summer draws to a close.
Double Date follows mild-mannered innocent Jim as he attempts to lose his virginity on the eve of his 30th birthday; but the beautiful sisters he and his friend Alex have met for the night, may have darker plans in mind. We will announced guests for this event later in the summer’’.
Top Knot Detective, an Australian mockumentary about a 90s Japanese samurai/detective series known in Japan as ‘Ronin Suiri Tentai’ (‘Deductive Reasoning Ronin’) but known in Australia as ‘Top Knot Detective’. Battling ninjas, monsters, outrageous behaviour, and killer lines, it has it all and is not to be missed!
Steve Miner’s 1982 slasher, Friday the 13th Part III: 3D sees the iconic Jason Voorhees notch-up his kill score on his favourite calendar day – using all three dimensions.
Movies In Focus has covered Mayhem for the last few years – and I hope to do the same again in 2017. Keep reading for more updates on the festival as we close in on October.
