BAFTA 2025: Full Nomination List For The EE British Academy Film Awards

The 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards nominations have been announced, and it’s great to see Irish film, Kneecap has done incredibly well, scoring a strong six nominations. Directed by Rich Peppiatt, Kneecap has not only broken box office records but also captured the imagination of BAFTA voters across multiple categories. It also needs to be noted that the film is one of Movies In Focus‘ favourites from 2024.

From Outstanding British Film to Film Not in the English Language, Kneecap has proven that great storytelling knows no linguistic boundaries. The movie’s nominations also span Original Screenplay, Outstanding Debut, Casting and Editing . The BAFTA nominations celebrate the film’s unique narrative about a Belfast hip-hop trio rapping in Irish – and it illustrates how Kneecap is more than just a movie – it’s a full-blown cultural movement that challenges preconceptions of the Irish language music and cinema.

Papal thriller Conclave leads the BAFTA pack with 12 nominations. Musical gangster pic Emilia Pére scored 11 nods, and epic drama The Brutalist has nine awards nominations. Both Anora and Wicked have seven shots as securing gold, while the aforemnetion Kneecap and Bob Dylan drama, A Complete Unknown both have 6. Meanwhile, the biggies list is rounded out by The Substance and Nosferatu with 5 nominations each. 

The 2025 EE Bafta Film Awards, hosted by David Tennant will take place at London’s Southbank Centre on Sunday 16 February.
