Acclaimed Horror-Drama RELIC Hits US Drive-In Screens For 4 July
Just before it hits US cinema and Digital/VOD on 10 July, IFC Films is bringing Relic to US drive-in screens in an advance one week-run starting on 3 July.
Japanese-Australian director Natalie Erika James’ feature debut is a powerful horror/family drama which has as many emotional moments as it does scares. James was behind the similarly rich short film Creswick, which you can watch here.
The film currently holds 100% on Rotten Tomatoes – the Movies In Focus review is coming soon.
Here’s the synopsis:
When elderly mother Edna (Robyn Nevin) inexplicably vanishes, her daughter Kay (Emily Mortimer) and granddaughter Sam (Bella Heathcote) rush to their family’s decaying country home, finding clues of her increasing dementia scattered around the house in her absence. As Edna’s behavior turns increasingly volatile, both begin to sense that an insidious presence in the house might be taking control of her. All three generations of women are brought together through trauma and a powerful sense of strength and loyalty to face the ultimate fear together.
