Academy Awards 2020: Joker Leads The Oscar Pack
It’s not really a surprise that the multi-award winning, billion dollar grossing Joker is leading the pack with 11 nominations at the 2020 Academy Awards. If I were a betting man, I’d say that Joaquin Phoenix is a lock to win the Best actor Oscar and Todd Phillips’ film will take home Best Picture. Having said that, I think that Adam Driver really deserves the Best Actor trophy for his brilliant work in Marriage Story.
I get the feeling that Quentin Tarantino might win Best director for Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood and it’ll be a major crime if Brad Pitt doesn’t take home the Supporting actor award (although competition in that category is tough – Joe Pesci anyone?).
Best actress will go to Saoirse Ronan or Renee Zellwegger – that’s a tight race right there. Laura Dern is in with a serious shot at Supporting actress but might get an upset from Florence Pugh.
