UK Trailer For Terry Gilliam’s THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE

Like many, Movies In Focus has been reading about director Terry Gilliam’s The Man Who Killed Don Quixote for the last 20 years. In many ways, I still can’t believe that it exists considering the many disasters which have befallen the film’s many incarnations over the last two decades.

Anyway, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote is finally opening in the UK on 23 January 2020 – and here’s the official trailer for the movie which stars Adam Driver, Jonathan Pryce, Olga Kurylenko and Stellan Skarsgård

It looks great – with plenty of Terry Gilliam‘s trademark visual flourishes. Gilliam and co-writer Tony Grissoni have reworked the script over the years and I think that we might get something special with this one.

The synopsis:

THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE is the story of Toby (Driver), a cynical advertising director, who finds himself trapped in the outrageous delusions of an old Spanish shoemaker (Pryce) who believes himself to be Don Quixote.  In the course of their comic and increasingly surreal adventures, Toby is forced to confront the tragic repercussions of a film he made in his idealistic youth – a film that changed the hopes and dreams of a small Spanish village forever. Can Toby make amends and regain his humanity? Can Don Quixote survive his madness and imminent death? Or will love conquer all?
