Trailer: THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING – Franchise Starter Or Failed Family Film?

Will The Kid Who Would Be King launch a new franchise, or will it die the same painful death as a dozen other family adventure films which failed in trying to ape the success of the Harry Potter series?

If I was a betting man, I’d put the money on Joe Cornish’s film ending up the latter. I have no ill will towards this – but it just seems like we’ve seen it all before.

Then there’s the shadow of Guy Richie’s 2017 bomb, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.
