Trailer & Poster: Neil McDonough & Bruce Willis Play The Most Dangerous Game In APEX

Movies In Focus is definitely interested in an update of The Most Dangerous Game starring Neal McDonough and Bruce Willis with a sci-fi spin. Apex, a new low budget action thriller from director Edward Drake (who co-wrote the script with Corey Large) might make for a fun 90 minutes or so.

I’m onboard for any riff on the classic 1932 film which was based on Richard Connell’s short story. That film saw Zaroff (Leslie Banks), an evil Russian Count shipwrecking boats near his island before hunting the survivors for “sport”. Joel McCrea and King Kong‘s Faye Wray played the lead roles. This time around McDonough is the hunter and Willis is the hunted.

Apex starring Neal McDonough, Bruce Willis, Corey Large, Alexis Fast, Nels Lennarson, Lochlyn Munro, Megan Peta Hill and Trevor Gretzky hits US cinemas, On Demand and Digital on 12 November 2021.

The synopsis:

Serving a life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit, ex-cop Thomas Malone is offered a chance at freedom if he can survive a deadly game of Apex. Six hunters pay for the pleasure of hunting another human on a remote island, but once Malone arrives all hell breaks loose. Laying traps and playing mind games, Malone tries to turn the tables and fight for his life and his future.
