Last year Movies In Focus had the opportunity to view S. Craig Zahler’s beautifully bleak Dragged Across Concrete. The thriller stars Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn as a pair of cops who are suspended after roughing up a suspect. In order to make ends meet they’re drawn by the quick and easy money of the criminal underworld.
As I said in my review ”Beautifully crafted and brutal, Dragged Across Concrete is a weighty crime drama with sterling performances from Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn. This particular dark shade of bleak may not be to everyone’s taste, but if you’re willing to delve into S. Craig Zahler’s world then you’ll be rewarded with a powerful cinematic experience.”
Now after a series of successful festival runs, Dragged Across Concrete is hitting the big screen and on demand on 22 March. I highly recommend that you check it out!
