Trailer: Guillermo Del Toro’s NIGHTMARE ALLEY Starring Bradley Cooper, Rooney Mara & Cate Blanchett

The great Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley is a remake of the 1947 film noir classic/ adaptation of the 1946 novel by William Lindsay Gresham. Del Toro is coming-off the huge financial, critical and award-wining success of The Shape Of Water and it looks like he used his clout to deliver a very interesting looking film.

Nightmare Alley certainly looks impressive – and the writer/director has loaded the film with a tremendous cast: Bradley CooperCate Blanchett Willem Dafoe, Rooney Mara, Toni Collette, Tim Blake Nelson, Mary Steenburgen, Richard Jenkins, Ron Perlman and David Strathairn all star in the film.

Movies In Focus hasn’t read Gresham’s book, nor have I watched the 1947 film so I have no firm idea of the plot for this, other than the below synopsis. This trailer isn’t giving anything away.

The synopsis:

In Nightmare Alley, an ambitious carny (Bradley Cooper) with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) who is even more dangerous than he is.

The film opens in US cinemas in December.
