Trailer For Robert Redford’s Cinematic Swansong THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN

A lot of atrocious movie trailers come along (I’m looking at you Bumblebee) but every so often one drops which gives you that cinematic tingle – this effort for David Lowery’s The Old Man And The Gun did just that.

It stars the great Robert Redford as a career criminal who is hunted by the cops (led by Casey Affleck). This is supposed to be Redford’s cinematic swans gong – but boy, does it look like he’s going out on a high note. Based on a true story, The Old Man & The Gun has a great cast – Redford, Affleck, Danny Glover, Sissy Spacek and Tom Waits(!).

The synopsis:

THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN is based on the true story of Forrest Tucker (Robert Redford), from his audacious escape from San Quentin at the age of 70 to an unprecedented string of heists that confounded authorities and enchanted the public. Wrapped up in the pursuit are detective John Hunt (Casey Affleck), who becomes captivated with Forrest’s commitment to his craft, and a woman (Sissy Spacek), who loves him in spite of his chosen profession.
