Here Today Gone Trevorrow: STAR WARS: EPISODE IX Needs A New Director
Colin Trevorrow won’t be directing Star Wars: Episode IX. The Jurassic World helmer has been ousted from the film’s director’s chair due to the oh-so contagious ‘creative differences’. The news comes weeks after Ron Howard replaced Chris Miller and Phil Lord as director the Untitled Han Solo Movie. Kathleen Kennedy don’t take no shit on set!
Here’s the statement from the Star Wars website:
Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon.
Rian Johnson, who has directed the forthcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the hot favourite to replace Trevorrow – time will tell.
