The Remake You’ve Always Wanted: PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE

Ed Wood’s Plan 9 From Outer Space is often cited as the worst film ever made. We all know that’s not true and the film’s kitsch charm makes us want to believe that it’s bad, but deep down we know it’s really quite good in an old fashioned sort of way. There are many films out there (often with multi-million dollar budgets) much worse than Plan 9. The making of Plan 9 From Outer Space was covered in Tim Burton’s 1994 masterpiece Ed Wood, starring Johnny Depp, Martin Landau and Bill Murray.

Writer-director John Johnson is updating Wood’s opus for the 21st Century (now titled Plan 9) and it promises to be ‘drenched with gore, skin and toe trapping 50’s diddles’. This is an intriguing little movie that is now on the Movies In Focus’ radar – check out the poster.
