THE FOUNDER Bought By The Weinstein Company; Another Chance At Oscar Gold For Michael Keaton?
John Lee Hancock’s The Founder is positioning itself to be a prime awards contender now that the distribution rights have been picked up by The Weinstein Company.
The Founder sees Michael Keaton play Ray Kroc, the man who turned McDonald’s from a small family company into a global fast food empire. Robert Siegel wrote the script for the film which is set to start shooting later this year.
Keaton was robbed at the Oscars last month when Eddie Redmayne picked up the Best Actor award. However, the Birdman star can take solace in the plethora of awards that he won over the last year – and knowing that he should get another chance at that sweet gold once The Founder hits screens.
