Review: Matilda Lutz Stars In M.J. Bassett’s Fantasy Adventure RED SONJA

We can put too much pressure on movies. Sometimes all you need is a film which offers up a fun time and takes your mind off the real world for a couple of hours. M.J. Bassett’s Red Sonja is a movie which does just that. It’s never going to win [...]

Behind The Scenes: Kevin Costner & McG On The Set Of 3 DAYS TO KILL

Writer-producer Luc Besson is the master of the Euro-thriller. 2014’s 3 Days To Kill sees Kevin Costner kick ass and take names whilst taking in the sights of Paris and looking cool in the process. This might sound like a Taken clone, but [...]

Behind The Scenes: Antonio Banderas, Robert Rodriguez & Danny Trejo On The Set Of MACHETE KILLS

Robert Rodriguez’s 2013 release, Machete Kills is a cinematic milkshake made from a wide variety of pop culture cinematic ingredients. It’s not very nutritious, but it tastes damn fine. Danny Trejo is Machete, the latino badass who is part [...]

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Lose Them: Johnny Depp Fired From FANTASTIC BEASTS Franchise

Movies In Focus is no fan of the Harry Potter franchise or its Fantastic Beasts spin-off. However, Fantastic Beasts has now lost one of its key ingredients – Johnny Depp. The move comes after Depp lost his ‘wife beater’ libel case [...]

Does This Extended Trailer For AQUAMAN Make Waves?

This extended look at Aquaman certainly gives you a lot of bang for your book. I think Jason Momoa is charismatic as hell, but this James Wan flick looks like too much of a CGI fest and Amber Heard‘s wig is terrible. I will say that the [...]

Wet Wet Wet! The AQUAMAN Trailer Is Here

I’m finding this first trailer for Aquaman something of a damp squib. Too much CGI and gravity defying action. I know Jason Momoa will deliver – but I don’t think the movie will. A shame. But you never know, I could be wrong. Check out [...]

What Would Ed Wood Say About This Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Video Apology?

Maybe it’s the low production value or the total disinterest from Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, but there’s something totally bizarre about this apology video from the Hollywood duo. Depp and Heard snuck their pet pooches into Australia [...]

Blu-ray Review: Harrison Ford And Gary Oldman Chew Scenery In PARANOIA

Paranoia works as a thriller. It has enough tense moments and good performances to keep things moving smoothly through its running time, playing like Wall Street meets Enemy of the State for the Y generation. Robert Luketic’s film is not as good [...]

Blu-Ray Review: MACHETE KILLS Is Balls-Out, No-Holds-Barred Schlock

You either go into Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills and accept it for what it is – or you don’t. If you fail to accept it then you won’t enjoy it (you’ll more than likely downright hate it) but if you do, you’ll dig it for being the [...]
