Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues to smash box office records left and right. Not content with scoring $247 million over its first weekend in the US, the film has now banked $300 million in five days at the US box office – it took Jurassic World eight days to hit that number.

The Force Awakens continues to churn through records and it now has Avatar’s $749 million total gross in its sights. Pundits are predicting it could potentially score over $3 billion globally, besting that James Cameron film’s $2.7 billion gross.

On the salary front, it’s being reported that Harrison Ford pocketed between $10 and $20 million upfront for the J.J. Abrams movie (along with percentage of the gross) while Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher both cashed-in $1.5 million each (a number that will grow across the sequels). Meanwhile Daisy Ridley and John Boyega banked somewhere between $100,000 to $300,000 for the movie and Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac took home between $500,000 to $900,000 each.

Apparently, Disney and Lucasfilm decided on a ‘legacy pay scale’ for the actors who starred in the original trilogy, but bonuses will be paid-out once the film banks $1 billion at the worldwide box office – something that should happen in a matter of days.
