Disney’s D23 Expo saw a massive influx of Star Wars related news. Disneyland will be getting heightened Star Wars areas including a Star Wars Land, something that is sure to get families excited – especially when you hear that they’ll be building a full-size Millennium Falcon!

On the movie front, it has been confirmed that Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow will direct Star Wars IX, the final film in the new trilogy. The director had this to say about getting the gig:

‘’This is not a job or an assignment. It is a seat at a campfire, surrounded by an extraordinary group of storytellers, filmmakers, artists and craftspeople. We’ve been charged with telling new stories for a younger generation because they deserve what we all had—a mythology to call their own. We will do this by channeling something George Lucas instilled in all of us: boundless creativity, pure invention and hope.”

The above image is the first look at Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One, a tale focusing on how the plans to the Death Star were stolen by a rag-tag group of bandits. That film is set to open December 16, 2016. The image show Riz Ahmed, Diego Luna, Felicity Jones, Jiang Wen and Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Ben Mendelsohn are also starring.

That’s a lot of Star Wars news – but remember that Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 18, 2015.
