Right People, Let’s Think About This – STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI

The Last Jedi – that’s the (sub) title for Episode VIII in the Star Wars saga (Rogue One was an off-shoot, an inbetweenie). This implies the Jedi never really got their mojo back after they returned in summer of 1983. But don’t forget the wise words of ‘Little Man Y’ in The Phantom Menace, “Always two there are, no more, no less. A master and an apprentice.”

Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker is still out there, hanging loose in the wilds of Ireland but I’m guessing this new title is about Daisy Ridley’s Rey. Her Force was awoken back in Episode VII, The …errrr…Force Awakens. Adam Driver’s Ben Solo/Kylo Ren will be back, revenging the Sith and I imagine he has a bone or two to pick with his old master, uncle Luke.

I’m cool with this title. It makes sense and it suits the Star Wars naming convention of being called…absolutely anything that’ll eventually sound right after you’ve seen it emblazoned on everything from a cornflakes box to an aftershave bottle. Although, having said that, Jedi don’t deal in absolutes.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens globally in December 2017.
