Notebook Reviews: COUSINS

Joel Schumacher – 1989.

Joel Schumacher directs this enjoyable romantic comedy starring Ted Danson, Isabella Rossellini, Sean Young and William Petersen. Danson is particular is a standout in a role which is quite different from his Cheers persona. It could very much have been overly dramatic, but Cousins has plenty of humour littered throughout its running time.

Cousins is directed with a leisurely place by Schumacher who really connects with the material. It once again shows that he’s a director who has a handle on pretty much any genre.

Witty one-liners and interesting characters make Cousins a hugely entertaining watch. Worth your time.
