No Cannes Launch For Warren Beatty’s HOWARD HUGHES Movie; Distributor Found
Roger Friedman at Showbiz 411 seems to have his finger firmly on the pulse of Warren Beatty’s (as yet untitled) Howard Hughes movie. Friedman states that Beatty himself got in touch to scupper the recent rumours that his film would debut at the Cannes Film Festival.
Friedman also let it be known that Beatty’s film will be distributed by 20th Century Fox – the company that released his last directing effort, 1998’s Bullworth. This isn’t a huge surprise considering the studio produced the picture alongside New Regency and RatPac.
Beatty’s film has been in post-production for a couple of years now and the perfectionist has taken his time to hone it for release. However, it’s apparently ‘done’, so all it needs now is a release date and a title. Beatty stars alongside Alden Ehrenreich, Lily Collins, Annettte Bening, Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen and Matthew Broderick.
