Nicolas Cage & Director Richard Stanley Team For H.P. Lovecraft Adaptation COLOR OUT OF SPACE

In a scintillating proposition, Nicolas Cage will team with Dust Devil and Hardware director Richard Stanley for an adaptation of the H.P. Lovecraft adaptation Color Out Of Space.

Here’s the synopsis courtesy of Variety:

‘Color out of Space centers on a family who moves to a remote farmstead in rural New England to escape the hustle of the 21st century when a meteorite crashes into their front yard, resulting in the land and the properties of space-time being infected with a strange, otherworldly color. To their horror, the family discovers that this alien force is gradually mutating every life form that it touches.’

The horror film, which Stanley co-wrote with Scarlett Amaris begins shooting in February with Joely Richardson, Tommy Chong, Elliot Knight, Julian Hilliard and Q’Orianka Kilcher co-starring.

Color out of Space will be produced by ACE Pictures and SpectreVision – the company who gave us the balls-out crazy Cage revenge tale Mandy.

I think Color Out Of Space will be many things but I don’t think it’ll be conventional.
