Michael Lonsdale, who played the James Bond villain Hugo Drax opposite Roger Moore in Moonraker has died at the age of 89.

The well regarded actor worked with auteurs such as François Truffaut, Jacques Rivette and Alain Resnais. Lonsdale also had a role in 1973’s The Day of the Jackal.
