Listen To How Bernard Herrmann Inspired Danny Elfman’s BATMAN Theme

Having enjoyed Bernard Herrmann‘s score for the 1972 mystery Endless Night, I was once again reminded of how Herrmann’s score for Journey To The Center Of The Earth(1959) inspired Danny Elfman‘s brilliant soundtrack for Batman (1989).

Over the years Elfman has often talked about his love for Herrmann’s music  – and he even re-recorded the composer’s score for Gus Van Zant’s 1998 shot-for-shot remake of Psycho. However, his score for Tim Burton‘s big screen version of Batman is remarkably close to Herrmann’s work on the James Mason starring  Jules Verne adaptation.
