When James Gunn was fired as director of Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 there was outrage from the franchise’s fans – and its stars. The writer/director was dropped after controversial old tweets were unearthed which were ‘indefensible and inconsistent’ with our Disney’s values. The whole thing was a woke-rage witch-hunt.
However, the studio has just rehired Gunn after accepting that what he wrote on social media was ironic and an attempt at humour. Gunn will go to work on the Marvel sequel once he completes Suicide Squad 2 for Warner Bros.
