Harrison Ford Takes The Lead In New True-Life Murder Mystery Series THE STAIRCASE

Over the last several years there have been a lot of great true-life crime documentaries. One of the best of these is Jean-Xavier de Lestrade’s The Staircase, which which followed the trial of novelist Michael Peterson, who was accused of murdering his wife Kathleen in 2001. Peterson claimed his innocence, but the 13-part series (available on Netflix) takes some serious twists and turns which you simply couldn’t make up

Harrison Ford is now in the frame to play Peterson in a new series for Annapurna Television. Antonio Campos will write and executive produce (alongside Ford).

This would be Ford’s first-ever lead in a TV series and it’s a great fit for the star, with obvious echoes of one of his most iconic role – Richard Kimble in The Fugitive

The Staircase is currently being shopped around various streamers and networks works, but don’t be surprised if it ends up on Netflix, considering that companies relationship with the original documentary.
