I think deep down we all knew we’d see a King Kong Vs Godzilla movie. After all, Legendary Pictures is behind the surpassingly good Godzilla (and it’s in-development sequel) and the forthcoming Kong: Skull Island. We also live in a time of the ‘mash-up’ and the shared universe and everything must be merged and inter-related. That’s like a rule now.
Kong: Skull Island was set to be released by Universal Pictures but now Legendary has moved the movie to Warner Bros to make things easier for the Kong/Godzilla crossover. Is this cool? I don’t know – probably.
Movies In Focus hasn’t written much about Kong: Skull Island since Michael Keaton and J.K Simmons dropped out but it’s still set for a March 10, 2017. Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, Corey Hawkins, Tom Wilkinson, John C. Reilly and Samuel L. Jackson are set to star in the Jordan Vogt-Roberts directed film.
