George Lucas On The Set Of AMERICAN GRAFFITI

When most people hear the name George Lucas they think of Star Wars. Yes – the Star Wars movies are great (even the prequels) but Lucas’ masterwork is American Graffiti.

The 1973 movie starring Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Paul Le Mat, Charles Martin Smith and Harrison Ford is pitch perfect. And the soundtrack is phenomenal – I’ve owned the 2-disc album for 20 years and it gets repeated play.

The movie grossed $115 million at the US box office in 1973 money, which is more than $592 million in 2019. Not bad for a coming of age comedy/drama.

Here are a few snaps of George Lucas on the set.
