Colin Farrell & Andy Serkis In The Frame For The Penguin & Alfred Pennyworth In THE BATMAN
The great Colin Farrell is one seriously left field choice for Oswald Cobblepot AKA The Penguin in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Farrell has the dark looks, he’s got the acting chops but he doesn’t have the…physique and stature for one of The Dark Knight’s most recognisable villains. Having said that – I’d watch Colin Farrell in anything.
Now, as for Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattison)’s loyal butler? I really, really wanted the mighty Richard E. Grant to get the role. However, I’m willing to go with the flow here and see what Serkis is able to do. I know he won’t be bad, in fact he might even be great. I feel he’s just a little young for the part.
Paul Dano, Zoe Kravitz and Jeffrey Wright have already been cast in Reeves Batman reboot, with the aforementioned actors starring as The Riddler, Catwoman and Commissioner Gordon respectively.
The Batman is set for release on 25 June 2021.
