Billy Ray Serenades Scorsese With Some SINATRA
Writer Billy Ray (NOT of Cyrus fame) has been brought in to write the script for Martin Scorsese’s Frank Sinatra biopic.
Scorsese has long been interested in bringing a Sinatra tale to the screen, originally planning a Rat Pack film that was set to star Tom Hanks and John Travolta. That seems to have gone by the wayside, with the famed director now focused squarely on Ol’ Blue Eyes.
Phil Alden Robinson (Field of Dreams) wrote a previous draft of the script, although it looks like Billy Ray will be starting from scratch.
The big issue is casting, will Scorsese favourite Leonardo DiCaprio (They are currently shooting The Wolf Of Wall Street) be top of the list? After all, Scorsese did cast him as Howard Hughes in The Aviator – and they don’t exactly look alike.
