The 2012 and 2013 Academy Awards saw films centered on Hollywood win the Best Film award.
Michel Hazanavicius’s silent film, The Artist won the hearts of the Academy in 2012, while the 2013 awards saw Ben Affleck’s Argo score the top honour.
The films couldn’t be more different aesthetically or tonally, however both take a rose-tinted look at Hollywood from a bygone era. They also happen to co-star John Goodman.
It seems that Hollywood (and the Oscars) can’t get enough movies about movies.
