Star Wars: The Force Awakens has crossed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office. The J.J. Abrams movie grossed a record-breaking $153.3 million during its second weekend in the US, bringing the domestic total to $544.5 million. Add a further $546 million from international markets and the global total now stands at $1.09 billion.
The Force Awakens is now fifth on the list of all-time domestic grossers and 15th on the top international grossers – but with much more to come, it really does look like the film will become the highest grossing film of all-time internationally and domestically.
