It’s amazing that it has taken 25 years for a Twins sequel to hit development. It’s even more amazing that it has taken 25 years for the concept of Triplets to be…er…conceived.
According to THR:
“The story would see Schwarzenegger and DeVito as brothers Julius and Vincent, conceived experimentally, who discover they have third sibling.”
Hilarity will no doubt ensue.
Universal Pictures and Montecito Picture Company are developing the project, with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito and Eddie Murphy apparently attached. Twins, released in 1988 grossed $111 million at the US box office and over $216 million globally.
Ivan Reitman, who directed Twins and Junior (which reunited DeVito and Schwarzenegger) will produce but not direct. The project is currently out to writers.
The idea for Triplets is so high concept that it has plummeted to new depths of…I don’t know what.
